Boxing in Africa
Going all in in 13 African countries
Getting kids off the streets in Africa and getting them excited about a great hobby — that's what the “AIBA World Boxing Championship” is all about. We were immediately impressed by the idea and developed a mobile boxing training center with ring and sandbag. Suitable for touring across Africa. More ground clearance, special shock absorbers, reinforcements in sensitive areas, easy handling — the production guys were unstoppable, including rehearsal boxing matches.
The “mobile boxing ring” started in Togo, in the west of the continent. From the local metropolis of Lomé, it continued through a total of thirteen African countries. Other stops included East London in South Africa and Lusaka in Zambia. The tour culminated by boat from South Africa to Rotterdam and from there by land to Hamburg. The goal: The boxing world championship.
This extraordinary project not only made many children shine, but also a charity prize for this great idea in the end. The world needs more of these kinds of ideas — we're just getting started!
