Luxury Summit
Monte Carlo, Monaco
The event is largely regarded as a premium gathering for executives in the luxury industry, industry leaders, decision-makers, and financiers from around the world. It brought together around 400 guests to discuss the future of the luxury sector, retail concepts, as well as challenges and opportunities of new technology. Top speakers such as Johann Rupert (Executive Chairman, Richemont) and Mario Testino (Photographer) shared their experiences and views with the audience.
POP-UP STORES AND THE NEED TO SURPRISE At the summit, there was an increasing trend in retail: temporary shops and brands that inspire their customers with surprising experiences. “Today, people have everything they ever wanted and they can afford more and more. What they can't buy themselves are experiences. If experiences are real goods today, then luxury brands in this area must distinguish themselves through exclusivity,” says Bailey (Founder and CEO of Appear Here). “And my feeling tells me that they have to rely on pop-up shops if they want to make their own of the exclusivity, the experience and that very special moment.” In keeping with this new trend, sponsor Marchi Mobile presented an exclusive mobile flagship store right in front of the venue and thus haunted the participants.
